PATIENTS REPORT HIGH SATISFACTION WITH ACUVUE ADVANCE® for ASTIGMATISM
Most say opinion of their ECP improved after being prescribed new lens
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (August 5, 2005) – Astigmatic patients report high levels of satisfaction with ACUVUE ADVANCE® Brand Contact Lenses for ASTIGMATISM, and report feeling more favorable toward their Eye Care Professional for prescribing the lens, according to research conducted on behalf of VISTAKON®, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc.
In two separate surveys -- the first conducted at home soon after trying the lenses (n = 532); the second about three weeks later (n =192) – more than three quarters of respondents reported being “extremely/very satisfied” with the lens and rated its overall vision and comfort as “excellent/very good.” Most patients (58%) participating in the surveys were prior contact lens wearers. After wearing the lenses for three weeks, 70 percent said ACUVUE ADVANCE® for ASTIGMATISM was “better than their prior vision correction method and other contact lenses they’ve tried.”
Among prior contact lens wearers, the majority (80%) reported that they tried ACUVUE ADVANCE for ASTIGMATISM at the suggestion of their Eye Care Professional, while one in three (34%) noted that they were experiencing difficulties with their current contact lenses. After receiving the prescription for ACUVUE ADVANCE for ASTIGMATISM, six-in-ten said that their opinion of their Eye Care Professional was more favorable.
ACUVUE ADVANCE for ASTIGMATISM utilizes a breakthrough stabilization technology, which harnesses the natural pressures of a blinking eye to balance the lens in place and quickly realign the lens if it rotates out of position, providing patients with astigmatism with consistent, all-day vision and comfort. ACUVUE ADVANCE for ASTIGMATISM is indicated for daily wear vision correction. As with all contact lenses, eye problems, including corneal ulcers, can develop.
