VISTAKON Launches ACUVUE® OASYS™ Daily-Wear Contact Lenses

VISTAKON, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care, Inc., has launched the ACUVUE® OASYS™ contact lens with HYDRACLEAR® PLUS, a two-week daily-wear lens made of senofilcon A, a new generation of silicone hydrogel material that is 50 percent smoother than currently available silicone hydrogel lenses. Senofilcon A offers high oxygen transmissibility and a higher volume of moisture-rich wetting agents than current hydrogels. The lens also includes an improved formulation of Vistakon’s HYDRACLEAR® technology. In clinical studies of more than 190 contact lens wearers, patients wearing ACUVUE® OASYS™ reported consistently clear, crisp vision and said their eyes stayed moist in such challenging environments. Seventy-five percent of study participants said they did not need rewetting drops while wearing the OASYS™ lens.
