ACUVUE ADVANCE® BRAND CONTACT LENSES FOR ASTIGMATISM
NOW AVAILABLE IN COMPLETE RANGE OF PARAMETERS
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (July 18, 2005) – VISTAKON®, a division of Johnson & Johnson Vision Care Inc., today announced that ACUVUE ADVANCE® Brand Contact Lenses for ASTIGMATISM, the first silicone hydrogel daily wear contact lens for individuals with astigmatism, are now available in a full range of parameters.
The 2,190 parameters include plano to -6.00D in 0.25D steps (Cylinders: 0.75, -1.25, -1.75; Axis: 10° to 180° in 10° steps); -6.50D to -9.00D in .50D steps (Cylinders: -1.25, -1.75; Axis: 90° & 180°, + 20, no obliques); and, +0.25D to +6.00D in 0.25 steps (Cylinders: -0.75, -1.25, -1.75; Axis: 90° & 180°, + 20, no obliques).
ACUVUE ADVANCE® for ASTIGMATISM utilizes a breakthrough stabilization technology, which harnesses the natural pressures of a blinking eye to balance the lens in place and quickly realign the lens if it rotates out of position, providing patients with astigmatism consistent, all-day vision and comfort. The lenses also feature HYDRACLEAR®, a proprietary technology that combines an oxygen-rich material with a moisture-rich wetting agent that gives the lenses a moist, smooth feel. ACUVUE ADVANCE® for ASTIGMATISM offers the highest level of UV-blocking†* available, with more than 90 percent of UVA rays and 99 percent of UVB rays blocked†. On average, contact lenses without UV blocking block less than about 10% of UV-A radiation and 30% of UV-B radiation.
ACUVUE ADVANCE® for ASTIGMATISM is indicated for daily wear vision correction. As with all contact lenses, eye problems, including corneal ulcers, can develop. Some wearers may experience mild irritation, itching or discomfort. Lenses should not be prescribed if patients have any eye infection, or experience eye discomfort, excessive tearing, vision changes, redness or other eye problems. Consult the package insert for complete information. For further information, call 1-800-843-2020 or visit www.ecp.acuvue.com.
