Q: So what is HYDRACLEAR® PLUS?
A: HYDRACLEAR® Plus is our brand name for the next generation of our proprietary technology that allows us to use a higher volume of a moisture rich wetting agent in a new, state of the art formulation. This creates a more wettable, ultra smooth contact lens, especially for challenging environments that make eyes feel tired and dry.

Q: Why would I use a lens that is so much more expensive?
A: Patients in environments where eyes feel tired and dry want relief. Having a premium lens built to meet their needs is important and research tells us that they are more than willing to pay this premium when they understand the benefits they can expect.
In addition, we have learned that a large percent of these patients are continuously using rewetting drops. The cost could end up being about the same but with higher satisfaction for their lens performance.

Q: Why wouldn’t I use this new lens with all my patients, particularly those using ACUVUE ADVANCE® Brand Contact lenses with HYDRACLEAR®?
A: Ultimately, we believe that decision is up to you to determine what is the best for your patients.

Q: The 8.4 base curve seems very steep OR Why do you only offer 1 BC? What range of patients can I fit with this lens?
A: This base curve/diameter combination creates a sag value just between the 2 base curves of ACUVUE® 2 and ACUVUE ADVANCE®, and has performed well in clinical studies of over 1000 patients with K readings ranging from 39.00 to 50.00D.

Q: You talk about feelings of dry and tired eyes? Does this mean you recommend this lens for clinical dry eye patients?
A: ACUVUE® OASYS™ is indicated for wear in healthy eyes with the need for refractive correction. This lens simply performs well in environments that cause feelings of tired, and dry eyes in patients with otherwise healthy eyes. We felt it was important to call this out as such situations have a major impact on the overall wearing experience of most full-time contact lens wearers today.
